Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information CardPulse ("we," "us") collects when you use cardpulse.info (the "Service"), why we collect it, and who we share it with. If you have questions, email support@cardpulse.info.
Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, a username, and a password (which we never store in plain text - it's hashed with bcrypt before it touches our database). If you sign in with Google instead, we receive your Google account's verified email address, name, and a unique account identifier from Google - we never see or store your Google password.
Tracked items. The cards you choose to track, your price thresholds, quantity/condition/foil preferences, and the history of alerts we've sent you (so your dashboard can show recent activity and so we don't email you twice for the same drop).
Payment information. If you subscribe to Pro, Stripe processes your payment directly - we never see or store your card number. We keep a reference to your Stripe customer/subscription ID so we know your plan status.
Technical information. We temporarily use your IP address to rate-limit abusive request patterns (e.g. repeated failed logins). This isn't stored permanently or linked to your account for tracking purposes.
How We Use Your Information
- Sending price-drop alert emails for the items you track
- Sending account-related emails (verification codes, email-change confirmations)
- Enforcing free-tier limits and managing Pro subscriptions
- Preventing abuse of the Service (rate limiting, fraud prevention)
We do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Who We Share Data With
- TCGPlayer - card search terms you enter are sent to TCGPlayer's public API to look up prices. CardPulse is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TCGPlayer, LLC.
- Amazon SES - sends verification and price-alert emails on our behalf.
- Google - if you use "Continue with Google," Google shares your verified account info with us as described above.
- Stripe - handles payment processing for Pro subscriptions.
- Google Fonts - this site's fonts are loaded from Google's font CDN, which sees your IP address like any web request.
Cookies & Local Storage
We don't use cookies. We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in (a login token) and remember your light/dark theme preference - both stay on your device and aren't used to track you across other sites.
Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. To delete your account and associated data, email support@cardpulse.info - there's currently no self-service delete button, so we handle deletion requests manually.
Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
CardPulse is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Service changes. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
